Configuring emergency DATs
Emergency DATs can be downloaded manually to protect your system against a major virus until the normal VirusScan DAT update is released.
Note: These EXTRA.DAT files should be automatically downloaded as part of your client system AutoUpdates, or ePolicy Orchestrator scheduled pull process. Refer to the section, Updating detection definitions.
Configuring emergency DATs is a two-step process.
- Download the emergency DAT file. This process is the same for both client systems and ePolicy Orchestrator repositories.
- Install the emergency DAT file. This process is different for client systems and ePolicy Orchestrator 4.0, 4.5, and 4.6 servers.
